    Using Photo Paper in an Inkjet?

    Wonder if anyone has tried it yet? What happened?

    Actually, that was a working recipe early in the age of inkjets to get a cheap glossy or transparent base, when glossy Inkjet materials cost a fortune if they were available at all. It sure worked in the original HP Deskjet age. YMMV with modern inks...

    Why not use the inket of a Negative on the photo paper ? Expose the paper to light, then rinse off the ink in some water then develop the image. You might end up with the worst of both worlds. The high cost and effort of digital, plus the need for a darkroom and chemicals !

    You mean something like Kodak's Ultra Premium Photo Paper?

    Actually, I haven't tried it yet. But I've heard that people really like their photos on this paper. If you have the skills necessary to do a good job with an inkjet printer of course.

    If you try this you'll need to fix and wash the unexposed paper first to remove all the siver. Also, you may need to use a non-hardening hypo in order to keep the emulsion porous so the dies can penetrate.

    Shssssh! If Ilford and others find out about this photo paper prices will jump as high as inkjet prices!
