Thanks to everyone who commented on my son's portrait! I'm grateful for your input.
Now I have to get Momma to like the shot...

What's not to like? I know...Moms always want a big smile.
This is better than a smile...wonderful portrait!
In his new book, The Printed Picture, Richard Benson talks about the ubiquitous "smile" in so many photographs (wedding, celebration, etc) and the moms always wanting the smile no matter how forced...interesting.
Hi gandolfi

another portrait experiment of Laura.
Liquid emulsion - partially bleached/re-developed and then made as a bromoil.

Haven't had anything to contribute in a while. Saturday was the culmination of the Nevada Boomtown History conference in Tonopah, NV. and many of the attendees came in their best camp attire for the evening meal and dancing. I was present with the 1880 Anthony and Scoville fitted with an early Euryscop II Portrait lens.

A couple I came across at the beach a couple weeks ago (technically not August, but eh...). The hope is to reshoot in September with the girl holding the newborn -- a sorta before/after thing, ya know.
4x5 NC 160, crappy scan.

Time for bed. Nice pic though.
Best wishes,
Pete.
