So many handsome trees here – what about a sub-thread on spooky, eerie ones?
Not exactly what photographers look for, but I’d enjoy seeing a few of your most spine-tingling and blood-curdling examples. Try to scare us!
Here’s a Lawson Cypress – whose branches, roots & split trunk make me tremble.
Each time I pass, I hear a chilling whisper:
“Come closer, my child, leave the camera … closer … a little closer …”
One can thank early physical trauma for its shapely distortion (and attitude). Indeed, this tree has suffered; no wonder – it grows in a well-visited Seattle city park. But born from the sacrifice are lively roots jumping from the soil. A haunted grove to avoid at midnight!
