Well, here is one of my carbon prints from a recent trip to Oregon. This is a feather in a seaweed bed at Sunset bay. The star shape caught my eye. Some nice relief on this one.

BTW Tri, I love the tones on that print. I think it works much better.

I love that one , can we trade?

Here's a new transfer with custom VD / metallic gold pigment . You will see the difference in the foreground a liitle more texture because I inlay some of the gold metallic in that area. This image was taken with the Xray film so you can print either side.

Tri, that gold in the carbon print does look good. I guess I'll have to go get some and play!

A huge thank you to Vaughn! The carbon workshop in Vancouver was terrific. I'm quite inspired to keep going with this process. I can see how addictive it's going to be.
Here's my 2 best efforts from the weekend.
The one of Goldstream River is not quite dense enough, I'll be trying it again once I have all the requisite materiels and do some tests with my light.
I'm very happy with the Lasqueti Beach image. The relief in all those little pebbles makes them jump off the paper.
It was also very encouraging to meet other LF photographers. I feel cut off sometimes here on the mid-island. When I do manage to get time off-call and get into Victoria, my children and grandchild get precedence, so I've yet to meet the Victoria LFers.

Thanks Tri. Everyone certainly enjoyed the workshop. Your work was mentioned a few times with great admiration. It is a great pity that I'm not likely to see other carbon prints in the hand very often. The digital image just can't capture it.

Sly, two very nice images. You are to be congratulated. It is hard to get good prints at a workshop but Vaughn is one of the best so it does not surprise me that you have some fine images. Now it is all about printing and pushing the process to make it your own. Way to go to you and all of the others that learned from a good friend and great teacher.

I was fortunate to get access to the interior of a church in Los Angeles that was built in 1907. Here is one of the images of the interior in carbon.
