Thanks Vaughn. You are right about the computer screen not doing a carbon print any justice. It's pretty amazing what you can do with some gelatin, water colour pigments, and a dash of dichromate.

I'm looking forward to SEEING carbon prints and learning how from Vaughn next month.

In the meantime.....I amused myself during an all day video conference with coloured pencils. This is "Underpasss Graffitti"

Nice to see another work Andrew. This process is best to see it in person and have a chance to smell it too . Tequila or Rhum flavor as you wish.
I can see you did a great job with the sky, it cleared nicely.

    Nice painting.

    Politically, aerodynamically, and fashionably incorrect.

Just checking out a new batch of collodion in the back yard, getting ready for the summer's work..

Can't beat the smell of a carbon print, that's for sure! I think I'll stick with rye flavour.
Working successfully with skies, me thinks its finding the balance between sugar and gelatin.

Mark, your shovel image reminds me of a series of photo-lithos I did back in the late 80s for my grad show. I got tired of all the horse manure that was being shovelled about by other students and profs. I should add that I was anti-photography back then and thought all photographers were hacks...boy was I wrong (as usual).
My question for you Mark: Is it possible to get white whites in this process?

Sly I like your colouring. Which alt process is it?

jnanian: for me, this is no longer a photographic image, but a hand drawing. I think you need to back off on the other media a tad, so that the cyanotype can still come through. Just my opinion...please don't take it the wrong way
