A shack slowly falling down over the years in Cisco, Utah. 8x10 palladium print on platine from pl 100 negative

Just two years ago Zaitz posted a paper negative result in this thread, so I'll add to it: I wondered what a landscape would look like and tried 8x10 Ilford MG FB (Matte) behind my 360mm Rodenstock. The sky really burnt through on first tries, so I added a #58 heavy green filter behind the lens to favor the predominant foliage and gain a little definition between sky and clouds. This is from an 8s, f32 exposure under full sea-level sun in midmorning. I processed in not-very-fresh Dektol; fresher Dektol might add some 1/2 grade of contrast. After a low quality scan I inverted and flipped for this image, with only a little attempt at improving sky/cloud tones in Photoshop. It's not impressive, but it is cheap recreation.
allthough I like your image, I don't consider alternative...
And there's a whole thread dedicated to paper negatives - you might also upload it there (?)

I would consider printing with a paper negative an alternative way of image making... or better yet, a real paper negative. One that has been waxed 'til it's transparent.

Thanks, my search effort hadn't unearthed the thread you noted for Paper Negatives. I'll post there.

hi andrew
a lumen/retina print is an in-camera paper negative
long-exposed ( in this case about 30mins ) and a negative image
is stained onto the paper. can't be fixed ( it will turn white )
can't be developed in a conventional developer ( it will turn black )
so i scanned, ( it turned grey ) . i usually invert them as a "normal" print
but since i have been on a colorization-kick, i used photoshop to add the colors
Nicéphore Niépce ( one of the guys that invented photography ) used to do these
and he called them retina prints .. if he only had a scanner !
