Re: Post your first (LF) shot

Well, have to get started somehow. Here's my first LF shot, taken from the front porch on New Year's Eve with a Calumet CC-400, developed in D76 1:1 in an old Chromega print drum, with a stitched scan because my Epson V500 can't do 4x5 in one go. New to all of it: LF, film developing, scanning and printing the results. Still a lot to learn, but was so pleased that I at least got something...

It's exciting to see that image, isn't it, Robert?

Here's my first LF shot, from back in '07:

I don't think I have posted here those yet... back in 2005 when I was starting my LF affair... with a pretty old Ica Ideal 325 10x15cm camera from approx. 1923, with a homemade "reducing" back for standard 4x5" holders...

I've had my 4x5 for a few years now but I never used it. Well that changed a few weeks ago on a photo trip. Here's my first image ever taken with the 4x5.

Hey now, posting your first "successful" shot is cheating!

Here is my honest to goodness, first ever LF photograph. It was made with a Calumet Green Monster. I can't remember the lens, but it was very old. Obviously, this photo has some problems. I don't think I'd figured out front rise yet, nor the fact that I had a very leaky film holder.

I still love it though, as it is of my wife and oldest son, who will soon be nine years old. In his lifetime, I have probably exposed another five hundred sheets of film, and I can humbly say that I think I'm starting to get the hang of it!

Thumbs up Re: Post your first (LF) shot

Very cool Austin and appreciate your honesty. I think the light leak actually works, brings a spiritual element to the image.

Here's my first shot, really boring, and all that. Just wanted to see if I could manage to get a shot, and develop it :P So, yeah. Nothing to see here, move on
