Very much so - especially as their portraits illustrate "...how to capture attitude from shoulders, elbows and to a lesser extent, the hands"

Or should I say... paws ?

This boys grandad (my brother) was a golden glove boxer and boxed the former champ Marvin Johnson ... the boy just might be a fighter some day

My Apo-Ronar 480mm is without shutter, so I had to choose such a combination of film/shutter/aperture to allow for lens-cap-shutter instead - f/22 and 2sec. And my wife managed to hold perfectly still... It is my first portrait with this lens, but have to do more as I like it very much...

Jiri its very nice and you have a very pretty woman!
Is it the single coated APO Ronar so then I should als test mine, but I'm lucky mine is in a shutter, but only single coated. But with only 4 lenses it should not be a problem.

John, if you check the thread title, you'll notice this thread is for May 2009, not 1927, which is when yours appears to be from...

    Lovely, nonetheless!

Mark ... I laughed out loud when I read your response because I was thinking the same exact thing.

This is one of the nice effects of a soft focus that you just can't get any other way.

Very nice photo ... nice lighting angle and love the disappearing lane behind the subjects. That is a classic from another era!
