    uncoated Zeiss tessar 150mm f:3.5, good?

    Is uncoated (1,5xx,xxx) Zeiss tessar 150mm f:3.5 any good? A friend offered me one in compur shutter. What can it produce at wide open in 4x5 camera?

    I have one of those. I've never shot it wide open. The images I've gotten out of it are not tack sharp and harsh like some modern lenses. Sharp enough to give decent definition but with a kind of "dreamy" look.
    I think the 4.5 version is sharper but it doesn't have the "look". The 3.5 Tessar is not very commonly found. I probably paid 20 or 30 bucks for mine, in excellent shape. I don't think a guy can do that any more, though.
