Puglia, Torre di Porticello.
nikkor 300M, Provia 100.
There is a rash of this happening -- again -- oh, well.
But the images should be deleted as they are not large format as defined by this forum...which is based of camera type, not negative size. Camera type being ones that are view cameras with movements (roll film, okay), or at least use sheet film w/o movements.
Beautiful images, though.

This tower was an really ancient one, builded to control the seaside because pyrats on XIII century ... there were plenty of them in Puglia coast, close each other so they can made fire visible from each other in case of alarm.
Today, seems that the expenses is too hig to save them, so the italian goverment sell some tower to privat, like this one.
I was wandering how to reach it, and I jumped inside the garden, but I resigned beware of dogs. In the garden there was some olive tree, agave plants and prickly pear, but no people at all. I was looking for the Trabucco, the fishnet close the seaside...
BTW, I jumped on top of the hill, and waited till was bluhour. The 300mm was perfect from there to nail the shot.
Giovanni,
I love the simple geometry of the tower – pyramid + cube – and its brick-peppered texture. Looks like your medieval pirates would have trouble storming it! And the lighting makes it gorgeous against the royal blue sea. Thanks for the story and the effort you made.
I was re-scanning some old transparencies and came across this shot taken near Peggy's Cove.
