This is a scan of a print that I rediscovered a few days ago. We had a 4am photography meetup one morning and ships kept getting in my negatives. I must have went back on a different day and got the above. Only one ships light (the small vertical streak on the horizon) makes its appearance - probably a fishing vessel that turned on a port-side light. As you can see, it was a relatively fog-free night which was essential to getting a black background which, I may add, is a magnet for dust. I'm going to clean this print up and mat it this weekend.
BTW, this area is know locally as "Lands End."

I know just enough to be dangerous !
Thank you ! We had unseasonable weather in the Northeast and there was fog for so many days that I ran out of excuses for not venturing out with the camera
Thanks Dennis, the image does have potential, although I am seeing some flaws that I can't seem to explain. The very edges of the negative seem to have areas where the camera or lens seemed to have moved in between exposures, i.e. the guard rails on the pier on the left seem to be doubled. The buildings on the far right also seem to have this "doubling" issue, thereby making the image a bit soft at the edges. I've had the same issue occur in another format with a different lens and can't seem to explain it - the center area is sharp but the edges are soft. The camera was on a very sturdy Reis tripod and I was sure to be careful when re-cocking the shutter as to not have any movement - the setting was set to B at F22 for the night shot and F22 and 125/sec for the sunrise. I'll post this issue in one of the other forums, hopefully someone has a solution.
