Great images JP...and wow, how that Gundlach changes character between the two images!

Question...what would happen if you tried changing the aperture of this lens - from largest and decreasing at a slower and slower rate until fully stopped down - during a single exposure? Then maybe try another exposure with a more linear aperture transition, and a few others with different transitions? I've always wondered about this, and it seems that a lens like yours might offer some truly interesting results!

Thanks. Most of the SF lenses change very quickly over a few F stops. Top one was around f22, lower one about f4.5. During a single exposure, I'd probably wiggle the camera adjusting the aperture, so I won't. In a multiexposure, I'd probably wiggle the camera winding it back up, so I won't. In theory what you'd get would be something effectively like stopped down a little bit and the look that goes with stopping down a bit. A wider aperture shot is a fine blend of axial (center of glass) rays and peripheral rays (edge of glass) blending together for something diffuse. Turning the aperture while exposing would change that blend just like stopping down changes the blend (blocking peripheral rays).

I drove an hour each way, and only took this one photo.
