Me, I like how the lighting choices serve each other.

The bright water current makes you squint, but the soft yellow grasses offer relief.

Or the soft yellow grasses might appear flat, but the bright water flow wakes you up.

That's a pretty absolute statement for a very subjective art form.

To accomplish Jim's suggstion should it be desirable, one could use a polarizing filter at not full power, say 1/2 to 1/3. In this way you are reducing the intensity of the light reflections but not eliminating them.

I like Preston's image as presented but I see Jim's point. Both equally valid - different viewpoint.
