The forest pond (behind me) probably wasn’t here when this tree fell decades ago.

And the tree’s remains will probably still be here after the pond disappears.

Some things hang around, other things come and go.

On the film you can count the frogs:

I never thought the Kern river could be so scenic. Very nice.

Great Shot, Difficult to Find, More Difficult to Photograph.

Re: What did you compose at Water’s Edge?

Yesterday my wife and I were in Blowing Rock, NC and walked the trail around Bass Lake. I had my old Speed Graflex with a Scovill uncorked lens attached. I had focused on the tree at the lake’s edge with the film holder in place loaded with HP4 Ilford film. The geese family came by and simply pointed the camera at the geese. I was surprised was that I have a shot at all. The tree photo was then made with the film I had, out of date transparence, processed in C41. Color corrections made in Photoshop.

    Vaughn,

This is really nice. I really want to turn it upside down, though.

Thanks -- I have had the loose print laying around lately, and I still want to turn it over when I pick it up!
