What gave it away?!
I know my use of the filter needs a lot of practice... But i'm determined to make it work one day!
"Water's Edge" is quite a moving target these days. Here's the banks of the Withlacoochee, with some serious Bloom going on due to low/standing water levels.

I wonder what it will take go get all the swamps back to pre 2011 levels. Chickasawhatchee is less than ideal as are most of the smaller streams in the area. We need a wet winter.
Nice shot. I am intrigued by the perspective in the distance over the water.

I don't pretend to know anything about water tables and such but I'm really surprised how low the river is, considering that between around February 2013 to May 2014, the Withlacoochee was almost always flooding. In fact, that pile of wood/debris in the foreground is mostly due to said flooding. I have been traversing and exploring the areas around the Withlacoochee, Suwanee, and Little Rivers for years and I've not seen the river so bone-dry, even back when we were experiencing that terrible drought. Even the Flint was flooding like crazy back last year.
A few weeks ago I was out at this same location and the river was only a few feet wide in some areas - barely a creek. Normally it is between 20-30 feet wide. Where that photo was taken is usually underwater, and 4-5 feet under water at that.
