Raymond, this guy is quite good and had a huge display of panoramic pix about 2 years ago, but they seem to have disappeared. The website doesn't work well either, but it is a start:

See if you can track down the exhibit.
I've been twice and my sister lived in Turkey for years. It is a fabulous place. Have a great time.

Look up Ara Guler. Some very nice stuff, particularly city-scapes. Not sure if he's still photographing.
Also, Alex Webb's book "Istanbul" was recommended to me last year, but I haven't had a chance to order it.
It isn't Black & White, but incredible still images have been made by the Cinematographer Nuri Bilge Ceylan.
Also, check out his 2002 film "DISTANT," set in Istanbul. The prime character is a commercial photographer, and the imagery is stunning. (On DVD.)

Webb's Istanbul shows a great distinctive style, but it's in color.
the question where I'm going-------with a guide & another couple for approx 17 days. briefly, 3 to 4 days in Istanbul--to Cappodocia--Antalya--Bodrum--Kusadasi--Assos & back to Istanbul.

Hi,
Although the previously mentioned names are renowned photographers, I'd also like to point out Tahsin Aydogmus, who has recently put out an excellent b&w book on Haghia Sophia (6x7 and large format photographs). Gultekin Çizgen is an old-timer who has produced outstanding b&w and color photographs over the years. Reha Akcakaya is another photographer with a published book of b&w infrared images.
Just to name a few others, Izzet Keribar (color), Sabit Kalfagil, Lütfü Özgünaydin (color), Erdal Yazıcı (b&w) and Bülent Özgören (top notch b&w large format photographer) are among the best.
Cheers..
When you go to Cappodocia, make sure you take a hot air balloon ride. A lot of fun but you will have to leave the 4x5 (?) behind. :-)
