To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour.
- William Blake
Nice stuff from both of you!
One more from the creepy depot. I should have left more room at the top for the ladder, but one eye was on the ground glass, one on my 5 year old. Life goes on.

Another from my never ending fascination with railroad tracks
the catenary system on this section of the NEC always fascinates me.

"Ghost Signal" - Here is an image taken on an unused branch line of the Huntingdon & Broad Top Mountain Railroad in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. This signal still illuminates to protect the line it is attached to (The Norfolk Southern Railroad, formerly the Pennsylvania Railroad). I had to hike through some thick brush to find it. You can just make out the track to the far left of the image leading into the bushes.

I love trains! Have not had much opportunity to photograph them in large format though, but I do have these:
GEA-class Garratt detail
(Ilford HP5 4x5in, Nikkor T*ED 360mm at f/8, Linhof Technika V)
Garratts in profile
(Ilford HP5 4x5in, Nikkor T*ED 360mm at f/8, Linhof Technika V)
Both are South African Railways 4-8-2+2-8-4 Beyer-Garratt engines. Though they run on "narrow gauge" to you Europeans, they do dwarf most of your locomotives in size and power. They were in frequent use until 1990 even - but sadly, they are now almost nowhere to be seen.
