Nice material for a large print.
I know just enough to be dangerous !

Fantastic ruins, great shot. Can you go there to explore close up ?

I've been very impressed with the latitude that Ektar 100 gives.
Now to be fair, I don't have any calibration or it-8 targets when scanning(I'm not sure it-8 targets are made for negatives), so I'm left with my own interpretation of where to put the RGB tone curves in Photoshop. I took a digital picture right after with my 5DMark II and tried to match the tones of the sky.

I'm not sure what range the lab would give when scanning, but I've seen scanned 35mm ektars and they have a nice Kodachrome feel to them. I'm sure the sky would be a little less vivid.

Regardless to say, the dynamic range of Ektar 100 is incredible compared to my digital.

    Nice photograph, Deval!

Out of curiosity: Did you use ND Grads on this or is it all in the latitude of the film?

    Best regards,
    Martin

This is my first experiment with ND filter. End of pier is blurred due to tripod sinking in the sand, I think.

Sadly I tried to focus the foreground to close and the background went out of focus.

Thanks Dennis. Yes, of course, it's possible to explore that ruins. In my flickr there are some medium format photographs of there.

Going to the archives again about 1993. The long abandoned Frisco Mill in the upper Animas Forks basin looking about south down the Animas River. Near Silverton CO. The mill is at about 11,400 ft., accessible with a four wheel drive vehicle. Cold at night camping even in August, about 25F.

TK45 with a Nikon 360T ED lens, EK 64 chrome, home processed, v750 scanned with PS tweaks.
