I have no doubt that the camera was plumb etc, but the clouds and alluvial fan in the distance made me think twice, as i was expecting the "horizon" to be , well, horizontal

Ken, the beautiful colors in your image make me wish fall would already be here... (though I'd probably still shoot BW). Some friends tell me they don't understand how I can shoot such colorful scenes in BW. Like this one here:
