I got a little off track with posting, but here are the images from my Day 5 in Zion last fall.
#1 is much more abstract than I'm used to shooting, but this ended up being one of my favorites from the trip. Shot on 4x5 Ilford Delta 100 w/a Nikkor 180mm f/5.6.
#2 is actually another favorite, taken about 20 feet from the first image. I was really drawn to the juxtaposition of the cool tones on the dead tree at the bottom of the image and the warm, alive tones in the top half of the image. At least that's what I was trying to show... Shot on 4x5 Fuji Velvia 50 w/a Fujinon 90mm f/5.6.
#3 is a Ponderosa pine on a raised hill. Fantastic clouds were passing by, but it took FOREVER to get this shot because they kept dissolving as soon as they got close to the tree. Eventually the perseverance paid off and I was able to capture the tree when it was almost completely backed up with cloud. Shot on 4x5 Ilford HP5+ w/a 180mm Nikkor f/5.6. As always, comments are most welcome. If you are interested, here is a link to my Day 5 video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csiag8GdZBs
Very nice Alan, I have no fav of your 3 shots as I like a lot all of them. Different subjects, both color & B&W, incredible being so close each other but at the same time so different visually,
Cheers,
Renato
Wonderful work as always Alan. Really like the Velvia 50 one.
