Following this thread with great interest. Planning on a wee trip to get some scenery around Fife in the next few weeks. Hopefully I'll be uploading some imagery soon. (As soon as I get the scanner working again. . . )
Harley,
It is a very grand picture, moody and beautiful! Can you tell tell me where you set up your tripod? If you shot from the tunnel, you had to use a long lens, but once you drove down the road, I don't remember a spot by the road that high that you can set up this shot.
Thanks.
Hugo
Thanks guys, much appreciated!
Hugo, I made this at Tunnel View. I could have used a longer lens. At times I had the 240, 300 and 450 on the camera. I always have to guess what I used, as my mind is quite a bit more porous than a steel trap and I don't keep notes.
Looking south over Lewiston, ID (left) and Clarkston, WA (right) divided by the Snake River. A bit underexposed, unfortunately. Should have bracketed.
Toyo 45A, Velvia 50 (slight crop)

Harley, the new forum software makes your image fit in the screen, and depending on the size of the monitor, shrinks it accordingly.
The image you posted is 1196 pixels wide: I saved it to my computer and looked at it in Photoshop, where I could see it full-size. It's even more lovely.

Nice shot Harley but I like mine better even though the lighting was flat, the storm was two days past, and I didn't burn the top right corner:
