Large Format Landscapes

A landscape from yesterday. When I arrived at the lake, the clouds had cast magnificent shadows right beyond the tree, but by the time I set up for a shot, they had gone and after 1/2 hour waiting for another cloud to pass in the -20C cold, I gave up and did these:

P.S: I know my composition sucks, but I'm still learning and I have a long way to go. And also, trudging through snow 2 feet deep in the freezing cold didn'd do much to help me think creatively

Hard to tell here, but that little black smudge to the left is actually a 'tree island' miles away!

Quite nice Nikola, I too am not off put with the composition. Things dont always have to be so obviously composed looking. Some tension is nice. A minor quibble would be your jpegs look a tad over sharpened by the halos, not a big deal though.
