It's even further away from New Orleans. A days drive for you, totally worth it. I would go between mid October to April though, summer is too darn hot

And Stone, interesting lens flare. I kinda like it. I wonder if the light had an effect on the clouds? They do seem "bizarre". I like the exposed area on the left surrounding the outcropping of trees.
Thanks, I was freezing and losing feeling in my fingers and didn't have the time to change lenses, I had planned on shooting that with a long lens but I needed to just shoot and run to the car to not damage my fingers, now the snow is gone. Such is life!

Last year, the first time I shot a few 11x14 chromes. 11x14 Velvia 50 is beautiful (even 18 years after the expiration date).

Wow...I am already worried about losing shots because I forget and leave the shutter open after focusing and taking the dark slide out.
I cannot even fathom making a mistake with 8x10 or 11x14!

And I thought viewing an 8x10 piece of Velvia (or for that matter any transparency film) was wonderful. An 11x14 piece would be something. And not to be lost is that your image is a nice one - nice composition and color.

I've screwed up a few 8x10 chromes (E100G no less...) but the ones shot right make it worth it! Once I'm done with my stock of E100G it's all Velvia50 for me now that I'm importing it to the U.S. glad to have discovered it's still made, just hard to get from Japan. Now I wonder if they still would cut it in 11x14 if a big enough order were placed. Good thing I'm moving away from 11x14 and heading toward 14x17 so I'm not tempted by color, hah!
