Cross shadow and dandelions overlooking Rockland Harbor, Rockland Maine. IR converted D5100 with Sigma 50 hsm lens. This was a real hit on the my facebook page, where people normally don't get excited about my B&W photos. I guess it's a neat mixture of texture, shapes, tone, and subject. I've had a IR converted D100 for ages, but borrowed a friends IR converted D5100 and was astounded. Dynamic range has improved greatly (as expected for a newer camera) which is very useful for IR as contrasts can be quite high for digital when sunny weather makes for good IR. Dynamic range is probably more useful in IR than in color since you can't judge it with your eyeballs.
Chris I can't tell which ones (eastern, western, or double tail) but those are swallow tails.
