It's been well over a year since weather and time cooperated so I could do some astro imaging. I received a Nikon 500mm f/4 lens in the mail this week so good timing to try it out - I also bought a Nikon 1.4x TC to replace the Kenko one I've been using and immediately notice the difference. Here is the Pillars of Creation in the Eagle Nebula with the above, cropped a bit:

Great work Richard, tuco, and Bryan.

Here's an experiment from a long time ago - Chris

Re: safe haven for tiny formats

Thanks Chris, and I like that color field image.

tuco, I'd love to see more of that area in Washington. Seems peaceful.

A couple more astrophotography targets edited from Tuesday. I didn't spend all night on one, but bounced around and shot 5 total, just to refresh myself on doing this. I was pleased to be able to get similar results in shorter time using this larger lens with more light-gathering power on Andromeda. Later this year I'd like to get a good clear night and spend the entire evening making an image of Andromeda. The other is my first try at the Veil Nebula.

    Well done, Bryan!

    Thanks Bryan,
Love those astrophotography shots. That looks like one heck of a storm a brewin' Scott. Beautiful.
