    Epson Price Differences CA/USA

I was just perusing the Canadian Costco site and the Epson perfection V700 is listed at just over $400 US (499 CA) on the US site it is listed at $529 (650 CA)... is anyone aware of a reason for the discrepancy... the Canadian listing does not mention film holders and is vague about software... has anyone purchased one of these units from the Canadian outlet... and had a disappointing 'surprise' when they opened the box.

    Thanks... Annie

    Annie,

B&H $499 minus $80 rebate = $419 incl. free shipping and no sales tax for CA residents. That's as good as a refurbished v700 from Epson!

And there is no funny business from B&H.........Mark

Here in Vancouver, I purchased my V700 from London drugs, a large western Canadian retailer. It came with everything as it's supposed to, and I wouldn't expect that what Costco's selling is any different. I would assume that the better price is the result of older stock from the pre-recession era, when our dollar was at par. Most of our Canadian higher end/pro gear has recently been price adjusted to reflect our lower dollar, especially against Japanese products.

    BTW, it's currently available for $445. CDN, after $50. mail-in rebate = $359. U.S. dollars, from Best Direct!!! http://www.bestdirect.ca/products/15...on/B11B178011/

How's that for a killer deal?

That is an awesome deal. I picked up mine last year from Lens and Shutter in Victoria. Got a great deal from them at the time as well.
