what's the best thing for cleaning the glass of a flat bed scanner (epson gt7000)?
I seem to get and awful lot of dust marks and hairs on it

Glass cleaner without Ammonia applied in minimal amounts and a very soft old cloth so hopefully lint free.
On the other hand, in Lincoln you could probably set it outside with the scanner top up and let the wind clean it for you.
I take it dead is the operative word in your moniker? (Grateful Dead fan myself, mind you).

I've used lens cleaning tissues (that tiffen/kodak variety in the yellow pack) and eclipse (methanol) cleaner. Only problem is the bit of fiber the lens cleaning tissues leave behind which have to be bulb-blown away.
