    Re: Single Lens Photographers?

I use two on my 4x5 (out of choice), and I don't really ever feel the need for any others. I have had others in the past but ended up selling them after they just sat around without being used. I don't think that I could limit myself to just one lens, but the two that I have currently serve meet all of my needs very well (and no, neither is a convertible lens )

Weegee endorsed a few different cameras in the course of his career, but I think he always used the stock lens.

    Re: Single Lens Photographers?

Tough question... but I'm finding myself gravitating toward one of my LF lenses more and more these days: a 5.5 inch Kodak Anastigmat in dial Compur shutter on an Anniversary Graphic. Typical subject matter is environmental portraiture.

Sometimes I wonder why I spent so much money on lenses over the years when this old cheap-y works just as well for most of my photographic interests.

Well, I'm a former single lens photographer with about 3 years with a 14" Commercial Ektar on the 8x10 'dorff before sliding off down this terrible slope of glassaholism. But I'm back on the wagon--I haven't bought a new camera lens in over a year! I still get the shakes when I surf ebay though.

My 8x10 Century was re-built around a 210 lens, which I use exclusively.

I guess that it's obviously pretty rare (if it exists at all).

Majority of my work on 4x5 is done with 240. However, I don't shoot architecture.

Only one lens, a 65mm for 6x9 and have been shooting this for 4 years.

Sometimes I feel I would like a longer lens but haven't bothered buying one yet. I probably end up cropping a little more than others might though. A portrait lens would be very handy.

Roman Loranc, for quite some time,on his 4x5 he used only a Nikon 210,
seems to have worked well for him.
