I was in Cotabato in the southern Philippines last week. I saw a tourist brochure for the Grand Mosque, the largest in the Philippines, built by the Sultan of Brunei at a cost of some 45 million dollars. The picture was crappy, but the whole complex looked like it would make a lovely night shot, and I happened to have my modified Crown Graphic kit I put together just for work trips like this. Unfortunately, I was told it was an insecure area, and if I wanted to go at night we would need to hire a security team as an escort, so I blew that off, and shot the opposite, a small, cheaply made mosque behind my hotel. Although the concrete walls and open framed minarets were rough in the daytime, I thought the lights added elegance at night. I figured I needed ten seconds at f11 to get this shot on fp4, and the image is a pretty accurate representation of what I saw. Thinking 10 seconds felt short, I shot the second at 60 seconds, just in case, and it provides a lot more detail than I could actually see.
