Gitzo Leveling Base how do you.....

thanks a lot for the image. Makes things a lot clearer. I still have one query..I was planning to use it on Sachtler tripod that will take a 75mm half bowl. Can I use the leveling base to do two functions 1) Perform as a half bowl adapter, so that I can place the ballhead on top 2) use it to level the ballhead/ camera.

I don't know how the Sachtler tripod is made, and I fear that this levelling base can only be adapted for Gitzo tripods. The tripod needs to have a collar to fix the base. Might be better to try it before buying.
