    Film guide Combiplan

    Hi all,

My name is Willem, from Montreal. My first post on this forum, or at least since a long time. So a short intro would be appropriate. I moved from Holland to Montreal last year and sold all my LF gear so I wouldn't travel with too much stuff. Now I just bought Pressman D and plan on building a darkroom again.

I also just bought a second hand Combiplan developing tank. I plan to use it in the dark as a dip and dunk. I noticed that the film guide was not included, and the seller says he never had one. Is there a way to get a hold of one of these? I could probably manage without, but having one really makes life easier.

    Thanks in advance!

    Willem

Hi, here's a link to the pdf manual. You can contact the distributor for availability on the part: http://www.hpmarketingcorp.com/CombiPlan.pdf

    Hi Willem

I just bought 4 used tanks and holders by placing a post in the For Sale section of this forum and also at APUG.
    Alot cheaper than buying new.

You would just call us to order the parts that you need. 973 808-9010 ask for the order department. The Film Guide is part 459416. The list price is US $9.50. I just checked and they are in stock.

The list price for the complete CombiPlan-T in the USA is $99.00. So it would appear that in your case the parts would be considerably more then the whole.

We sell the complete Film Carrier for $48.00 list. Are you sure that the price is not the cost of the complete carrier?

Seems like prices for the CombiPlan vary quite a bit in different countries.

Where I live (Japan), for example, the price is very high: JPY 26,800, which is about US$246 at the current exchange rate. A local darkroom equipment maker by the name of LPL seems to be importing the things, and taking a more-than-healthy margin.

Fortunately, it's possible to order direct from the US and bypass the middle man, but it does mean you can't just walk into a store and grab one.

Have you tried using it without the guides?

Not yet. Still working on the darkroom. It isn't dark yet. But as soon as it is (today I hope) I will certainly give it a serious shot without the guide. Should be fine I guess.
