A powerful waterfall – looks like you captured Palouse Falls in its late-spring sublimity.

Here's an unnamed waterfall, west of Palouse Falls, up in the Cascades.

Fancy this – the chilly waters in this image flow down the Yakima River, while those of Palouse Falls flow down the Snake River. Later, the two rivers enter the Columbia River at about the same place, coming in from opposite sides. Then it's through the Columbia Gorge, into the Pacific, up to the clouds, and after rain and snow in the mountains, down to the two original falls once again. An endless journey...

Wow, I'll have to third that, Matt. Really well done. I love the composition, the feel of the scene. Nice work.

    Why two exposures?

    Hi Stone,

that's because of the subject contrast range.
Had no negative film with me.
So I took one exposure for the foreground, in which the water is mainly white,
and one for the water, in which the foreground is underexposed.

    Best regards,
    Martin

Thanks for trying to explain to this poor Neanderthal, but I'm still not understanding.

If you made two exposures you're still going to end up overexposing one area it's just like making a longer exposure in general, unless you did something different like using some kind graduated density filter to one portion of the image?

Sorry if I'm being slow on this.
