My beloved Swiss Army Rucksack does not like my 'dorff. While it easily digests it, the movement while on my back plays havoc with the poor 'dorff by opening the clamshell and ever so slightly racking out the front standard so that extricating the open camera from the rucksack is not at all fun. From here on in it is retired from 8x10 camera carrying duty.
On the advice of many here I chaecked out the Kelty Redwing and it is one comfortable day pack. I went to REI and they loaded one up with wieghts and stuck it on my back. The entire load was on my hips, not my shoulders!
