What a nice of piece of glass! I wish to be able to put one of my soft focus lenses in a shutter like that.

    Hugo,

That's my pride and joy but a "beast" and the Chamonix holds it like it's not even there.
I believe S.K.Grimes put this gem together

I wish I live next to SK Grimes, feel like live next to Santa workshop. Good work!

I got 17" from GG-lens with this Pickard shutter and Emil Busch 13" Rapid Aplanat N#4 on the Chamonix 4x5

I made this fit by glueing three "custom" lens boards together and srewing them to the rim of the shutter.

It is never "not much" as long as you can shoot pictures with it!

I'm using this beat up Toyo 45D now. Nice and bulky camera. I think it was purchased for 100 dollars.

    Nicolas,
The Toyo D was my first LF camera. I made the mistake of selling it. Mine came at a cost of $135. I sold it for $200. I thought I was doing good making a profit of $65 until my next camera (a wobbly B&J field camera) taught me that a rock solid light-tight camera is worth every bit of $135. I should have kept it.
    Live and learn.
