Like many others, I'm shocked. I've always been impressed with his commitment and his depth of knowledge that he contributed to the photographic community. He came across as a very generous individual. He will be sorely missed.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Ted was a first class guy all around and he'll be deeply missed by many photographers. We'll miss his vast knowledge and his patience to share it with us. He was a cornerstone of this community and no one commanded more respect.
When I met Ted at the gathering last Saturday, I felt that I had met a friend. I will always value the conversation we had at the end of the afternoon. I am in tears. Amy, during this terrible time, take good care of yourself.
My most sincere condolences for your loss, words cannot possibly replace a man like Ted.
Like many, I too knew him only through these forums and a few brief phone conversations, when he was always a most sincere, caring and helpful guide and teacher. I am perhaps blessed to have just purchased a camera from him, only a few short weeks ago. It will now become a talisman for me and my photography, as I will always think of Ted when using his camera. The camera will be much more than just a tool, but also eternally a reminder of a great friend to us all.
May his memory help fill the void his passing leaves.
