    Tri-x sheet film with D76 1:1?

I'd like to develope Tri-x pan shhet with D76 diluted 1:1 but all of the literature I have is for D76 undiluted. Does anyone have data for this? Is there a reason Kodak does not offfer this data?

    Thanks--David

Hi David. Try this website to get you started. I would also check out Kodaks site. Good luck. http://www.digitaltruth.com/

Tri-X in D76 1:1 is a fine choice, many would find it an optimal choice. The site above is a good place.

    For Kodak's recommendation, see: http://www.kodak.com/cgi- bin/webCatalog.pl?product=KODAK+TRI-X+Pan+Film+(TX)

    Tri-x sheet film with D76 1:1?

I contacted Kodak today on this and they don't recommend using D76 1:1 because of the possibility of mottled results. I bet there are lots of folks who use it nonetheless. It seems to be fine with TX but not TXP.

    Don't tell Kodak...but I have been using Tri-X and D-76 (mixed 1:1) for over 30 years.

I don't have a package of D 76 handy to double check this but as I recall if you look on the back of a package of D 76 you'll see various capacities listed for various sizes of film, including sheet film, at 1-1 dilutions, so Kodak mustn't feel too strongly about it.
