    Negative Holders for 4990

Has any third-party company made a 5x7 film holder for the Epson 4990 scanner? I found some third-party 4x5, but I'd like a 5x7 film holder.

The Better Scanning mounting station handles 4x5, 5x7 and whole plate - I'd highly recommend it as a happy customer (I have no interest other than being a very satisfied customer). To get the best possible results from these scanners, you need to A: have the film at the optimum focus position for your particular scanner (the focus is not adjustable and can vary somewhat from machine to machine), and B: have the ability to hold the film flat and without movement while scanning. The Batter Scanning mounting station allows you to do both. As an additional benefit, you can also "wet mount" on it which may (or may not) allow you to obtain slightly better scans than with dry scans.
