I read in a previous thread about a mail-service drum scanning operation in the UK at info@drumscan.co.uk
but the address seems to be defunct. Does anyone know of a similar i.e. affordable service in the UK?
Thanks,
Chris

I don't know what your criteria of affordability are but I have had excellent service from Bayeux in London, http://www.bayeux.co.uk/homepage.htm. I have no connection with this company other than as a customer.
I would also try Richard Kenward. You can PM him at that name.
He specializes in drum scanning in the UK. His website is http://www.precision-drum-scanning.co.uk/
No connection just a fellow drum scanner specialist!
Dear Ian
Thank you very much indeed for that. Whilst we are UK based, many of our clients come from further afield. PDS has been working closely with photographers for over eight years, and welcomes hearing from image creators who have high quality standards and demands.
Here are some pictures showing what we do if anyone is interested.

Best wishes to everyone here.

On ebay right now is a small drum scanner http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Screen-1015AI-...QQcmdZViewItem I thought about going for it myself, but I already have it's big brother.I think even at the buy it now price it's a nice bit of kit, chances are it will go nearer the £200.
Optical res is 2500dpi
Kevin.
Thanks for your advise Kevin......All the best
richard kenwood is not only an exceptional drum scanner but a really good honest person to work with, and he knows how to listen...

Dear Adrian
Thank you very much indeed for your kind words. Listening and seeing are the essential elements before one has a chance of producing what is required, and photographers are perhaps the most critical and demanding clients one can work for...I know, I'm one<G>
But seriously, anyone producing scans has to get on the same wavelength as the person who's work one is scanning, or it is not really going to work as well as it could. That's why so many photographers have found they can produce as good or better quality scans from far less capable equipment than most drum scanning companies have available. They really care about getting the best out of their work. Here at PDS we care as much about your images as you do and willingly go the extra mile/s to give you all the advantages that drum scanning offers, but we simply cannot afford to do it for peanuts, much as we would like to<G> I'm sure the same applies to others on this list who offer drum scanning services to photographers.
Cheers

Another vote for Richard Kenward and http://www.precision-drum-scanning.co.uk . Great honest person and excellent drum scanner and photographer.
