printing long prints w. epson 4800

this looks like it's a silly glitch, but i'm unable to print longer prints than the pre-determinded sizes with the epson 4800 and cs2 (42 x 59cm)

the print i want is 40cm tall by 150cm wide (for example) on a roll of paper.

i go to page setup, select the pesonalised sizes box, type in my proportions, check it in the preview, it looks like it fits in the preview image, send it to print (i don't get any clipping warning), and bingo i get a little portion of the image clipped and cropped on a little page size that had no relevance whatsoever to what was previsualised.

anyone been there and done that?

Check to make sure you set your margins correctly on your custom paper size (see the manual for margins for roll paper) and that the printer driver is set for roll paper. I did some 10" x 90" prints on my bosses 4800 a couple of years ago and remember having the margins cause me problems but eventually got it all going.

A few tips:

1. Make sure you have the latest driver installed.

2. You may have to drop Photoshop's memory usage if your machine is tight on RAM. 4GB is probably the minimum for prints this size.

3. Set up a custom page size for the roll width and the length you desire.

4. Don't send the driver silly sized files. The driver on standard settings will throw away anything over 360ppi. Finest Detail is wasted on prints this size.

I experienced the very same problem , although I could do long prints (120cm) before .
Can you please give your current margin settings to obtain a long print ? ? ?

i set the margin to 030 cm on all sides, make sure that the driver is set to "rollpaper", not "rollpaper banner" or anything else.

i downloaded the maual from epson, drp me a like if yu want it &6mb)

My image has a size of 40x120 cms . Do I have to set up a custom page and how would the size and margins be ? ? ?

yes, you need to do a custom page size, the margins you use would depend on the exact with of the roll, but according to the manual for thr "roll paper" setting the minimum are those stated above 030 cm (3 mm).

I have searched the EPSON homepage , but could not find the instruction you mention .
Can you please give me the URL , because the 6 MB will be hard to transfer via E-MAIL .
The manual , which came with my printer is very poor , as all EPSON instruction manuals are .
