I love that last one Peter. The centered composition and the tree in the background for scale gives the stone such a great sense of weight! Beautiful tones too.

Thanks, Austin. The feeling of weight and volume was exactly what I was after.

Recent from the Great Smokey Mountains. 4x5 ACros in DD-X 1+6, cropped with toning in PS.

While setting up the shot, I was a little worried about the bright sparkles flickering around just below and to the left of center, but they seemed to have danced around enough during the exposure so as not to have overexposed the film.

Lovely! Alive with life and motion. I will say, however, that the toning is much too strong for my taste. I would like to see the same photograph with 1/3-1/2 the strength of toning.

    Mike and Christopher,

    Thanks for the kind words.

Christopher, as per your request, here is a toned-down copy:

Jim, for me the toned down version works better too...

My eyes prefer that toning option greatly. It's a good enough photograph and you've handled the subject so well that it doesn't need any strong treatment.
