    IQsmart3 firewire error message

Friends, I encountered a problem using Oxygen for an IQsmart 3, version 3.2.1. The software installed. The machine is hooked by firewire. But when I go to open the application, an error message indicates that there is no firewire scanner and the loading stops. I have swapped out the cables and tried both plugins on the machine and box, but again the CPU is not reading the connection. Any suggestions? Thanks.

The most common cause of this problem is multiple devices in the firewire chain. The scanner wants to be the only firewire device hooked to the computer. Do you have other devices in the chain?

Second, what operating system are you running?

Ted, appreciate your reply. The scanner is the only device hooked to the computer, and the OS is OS X (though I have not upgraded it from the version given to me). Thoughts? Thanks. David

    1) has it ever worked with your CPU?

    2) did you purchase it new?

    3) if you purchased it used was it working in its last home?

    4) assuming it did work at some time ... did it come with the calibration targets and did you successfully go through the entire setup routine?

Try clicking on the Apple logo - about this Mac - More Info

Find the firewire section and see if the computer can see the device.
