Used tilt instead of shift?
I prefer the tonality making the tree pop out , rather than the selective focus in this shot...JMO. And along that line, I would avoid the fall-off happening in the upper corners and reduce the filter effect by going with a yellow, or no filter at all...again just my opinion.
Vaughn, I used tilt to correct perspective. I agree with your comments. The Xenar has little room for movements hence the fall-off. Might try the yellow instead. I am waiting for some clouds to show up. Thanks!
Ramiro. Sorry, I used the wrong terminology! I meant: It looks like you used swing in the second image, not shift to throw both the left and right sides out of focus.
Shift would have just changed where the whole image falls onto the film, not throw anything out of focus.
Sorry for the confusion!
Also I have a bias to light skies, so take my filter suggestion with that in mind!
Edited to add -- roughly, 'swing' is a rotation of the lens(or film) on a vertical axis. 'Shift' is a lateral movement of the front or back standard.
Oh, you're right! I meant swing... hehe sorry.
I know exactly what you mean with skies. I was trying out my new filter purchase.
Ramiro,
I like the three dimensional effect the front swing has on the tree--but I would, wouldn't I? I shot something similar last week, but I was unhappy with how much swing I used. Unlike you I didn't shoot it both ways. I am tempted to go back and re-take the shot with no swing and see how I like it.

Do you have back swing -- less likely to have the light drop off using that.
Great image Jonathan! You are right, maybe a little too much swing but trully majestic.
I used both front and back swing. The Toyo Field doesnt allow for much movement.
