You're very kind, thanks. I had wanted the most in-focus leaves at the center to have more tonality, but had I increased the exposure the sky would have blown out to a distracting degree--not that it isn't already. When viewed large there IS more tonality, though. This is one of the first images I have taken in a while that would benefit from being printed BIG, I think. To prove it, here is a detail from the above scan:
I may have to try again. Since the tree is in the back yard I have many more chances!

Jonathan,
Wow would really like to see the print and I think big would be good considering the amount of detail and focus shift occurring in just this small area.
And the center definitely creates a great visual vortex.
I have noticed the few more subtle images I've tried to post on the web lose their essence and don't translate well to the electronic world.
The digital world has a lot to offer us but it comes at a cost, one of which seems to be a lack of subtle detail in a lot of different things from music to visual imagery.
Taken yesterday on the Horseman LX's first outing. By god it's a heavy bugger, good job this image was taken just a few feet away from the car during my lunchtime. Nothing special, first use of Adox 25, usual Caffenol CL semi-stand development.
Gorse and Woods by Ed Bray, on Flickr
Ed... I like the tone of the foliage. Did you use a deep green filter or is Adox 25 film that sensitive to green?
No filter used, I'm not sure to be honest about the green sensitivity although searching on the internet suggests that it has a lack of sensitivity to red, so that would suggest that it is more sensitive to green/blue. I was a little disappointed that the slow shutter speed has allowed a bit of wind movement of the top of the gorse bush to show when enlarged.
Another image from Wednesday's lunchtime, Same film, different position and different lens, this was taken using my Fujinon SW 65mm f8.

Ed...
Again, I love the foliage. I'm going to have to tray Adox 25... maybe with a deep yellow or yellow-green filter.
