Went out again today. Shot a lot of film, almost 30 sheets. Here's the first one hot off the scanner:

58mm XL, TMX, FX-39. I was in a little sinkhole and liked the shape of the tree and the ridge.

I can't stop looking at this one--so evocative, so beautiful.

David, you seem to also like going back to photograph subjects repeatedly... Isn't it the same tree as in one of your previous posts? This one is more dynamic, "stronger". Very good.

Yes I go back to that tree often. But it's not a Picture of a tree, it's like a dream that crops up frequently. The symbolism is important. Or maybe it is a picture of a tree, maybe that is how the tree actually is, or maybe thats how it conspires to appear. Maybe the image of the tree if a function of the seeers perception. Is there a seeer and who is the seeer? What is the subject, what the object? What does the tree and the image know about subjects and objects. Who cares anyway, the truth is I can see the light on the tree changing from my house about 2 km away, and the decision for me boils down to do I feel like making another exposure. Believe me, there are many, many that I have not shown. So many that I probably have quite a few gems unexamined in sleeves and a zip lock bag.
