    Another beautiful image, Frank.

And Steve is right, them's the rules. It's not a LF image, any way you slice it.

I'd say with a one-degree spot meter, you select what the middle gray exposure will be. The dSLR selects it for you and doesn't even tell you how many stops are in the scene, where your highlights and shadows are being placed relative to the middle gray exposure or how much to compress or expand the highlights during development very well. The human touch in the picture taking process. But of course, YMMV.

Some of the aspens in the area where this was taken get very large. In the foreground are two on the ground, with another in the middle ground. The youngun's are still upright!

I like that image a lot h2oman. The white tree trunks contrast nicely with the darkness between them.

Here's one from last Thursday. 4x5 TMY-2 with a Schneider 210. The wind took about 60% of the leaves off the trees the next day.

Jim, that's beautiful. Do you mind sharing what developer you used? I looked on the thread concerning peoples' preferences for that film, but you didn't chime in there.

    Hi,

Thanks, and I use Ilford DD-X at 1+4 in a Jobo 3010. The DD-X was a recommendation of Fred Newman at the View Camera Store in Phoenix. The results are very consistent.
