A tree stands alone amidst the fence lines on the Gettysburg Battlefield National Historic Site. I would normally shy away from such a symmetric composition like this but sometimes you rules need to be broken.

Calumet 45NX 4x5
Fujinon-W 210 F5.6 lens with B+W brand red filter.
Ilford HP5+. 1/8 second @ F45 with film rated at box speed of 400.
Self Developed in Xtol 1+2 in Paterson Universal Tank using the Taco Method. 15 1/2 minutes @ 20 degrees Celsius. Tap water stop bath. Ilford Rapid Fixer. Photo-Flo.
Center 6x12 section of the negative scanned with Epson V600 to match my intended composition for the image.

The light falloff on the edges seems to enhance the central nature of the tree, I like the risk you took in keeping the tree completely center. I haven't decided if I like it best there or not but it certainly catches the eye and is a beautiful exposure

It somehow reminds me of his drawings in his books: Thorgal.
