    Beautiful image, Mart.

KJ -- a challenging composition...and a good hike if you came up from the parking lot! I was there this past summer, but left my 8x10 behind and just strolled thru the trees with my Rolleiflex. Maybe that is why I am thinking square -- lop off the left side to make a square image.

Great images all around in this thread!

Thanks, I can see where a square crop would work with this one.

I have never owned anything that shot square and it just does not enter into my thoughts.

Maybe I should get one to shoot for a while.

Actually while the square is nice, try covering up a thin strip along the top -- down to the top of that pointy tree in the background just right of center. What this does is gets rid of that bit of sky in the upper left corner. The bit of sky seems to take my eye and attention away from the big gents.

With the uncropped image on the screen, put your thumb over that bit of sky and take a good look -- then remove your thumb. Go back and forth a few times and check out if it makes any difference to you or not. If you ate anything greasy, you might need to wipe your screen...
