Hi Ken,

A splendid view. It's interesting that the first should be so flat and the evening shot so rich and vibrant. Is the difference that the morning shot has to deal with a layer of mist?

I would speculate that there was no direct light falling in the first image, but that there is some direct light in the second. Thinking out loud...

This is correct. And I actually prefer the morning shot. It makes for a lovely print!
