That's how these particular trees seem to grow! There's a bunch of them on the beach that get submerged like that and there's fresh ones growing next to them, obviously completely submerged at this point of the day. It's bizarre. And that was quite a sizeable tree - a good 10-15 foot high.

Wow that's really cool! This is Australia right? So it doesn't surprise me, they have some pretty amazing wildlife and pretty amazing plant life. So it's one of those trees they can handle salt water? Cool.

Agreed. I love the lines in the second one. The way the eye snakes the road, the power lines, and the ditch are great. Plus full view of the tree. Regardless, both beautiful photos.

Yep, Australia! The coastline of Darwin in the Northern Territory. Yeah, there's plenty of wacky beasts up here - nothing surprises me anymore!

Tree roots vaguely in the style of Ansel Adam's "Roots, Foster Gardens, Honolulu, Hawaii."

    Nice roots welly!

I might be stretching it a little here but here are some tree remains.

Having trouble wrapping my brain around that one Bryan. It is almost abstract.
