This is an old bridge on the old Hwy 1, just north of Cayucos, Ca. It crosses over Villa Creek.

Same bridge as posted above ...
According to a passerby who lives on the property, this bridge was flooded in a 1998 storm and sank a little bit, causing the concrete bridge and railing to crack and break.

If you believe you can, or you believe you can't... you're right.

I appreciate your comment as well. When I was down in the creek scoping it out, your view was my first instinct. Not as much to emphasize the broken railing, but because I thought I would liked what the bold division of the center support, along with the horizontal road bed would've done to the image. When I looked through the groundglass though it was too evenly divided by the strong horizontal and vertical lines, so I decided to shoot it off center and follow the creek instead. There's more potential down there though and I will go back again and try to make it work from a different angle.
Thanks again for the thoughtful comments.

A few more bridge pics before I retreat back into my cave ...
I shot this with my Betterlight scan back. The tones didn't lend themselves to B&W at this hour, and the red algae in the water contrasting with the green bridge almost demanded color. Also I wanted to have a wider view of the structure to go with the details shots.
